Are you passionate about aviation and the stories behind historic aircraft?
Join the Museum’s Principal Conservator of Naval Aircraft, David Morris, on an exclusive ‘Conservation in Action’ tour — a unique opportunity to see firsthand the intricate work involved in restoring and preserving iconic Fleet Air Arm aircraft.
This two-hour experience begins with an in-depth presentation, offering insight into the philosophy, methods, and decision-making processes behind major conservation projects. You'll then be guided through the museum's exhibition halls for a closer look at aircraft such as the WWII Corsair KD431, where meticulous paint archaeology has revealed original wartime camouflage beneath layers applied in the 1960s.
The tour finishes with a tour of the exciting rebuild of the only surviving Fairey Barracuda, DP872, in the Arthur Kimberley Viewing Gallery.
Thursday 4 December at 10.30 am.
Tickets are £30 per person.
Tours are strictly pre-booked only and limited to 10 people per tour. Museum Access is included on the day of your visit.
