      A handgun has been found abandoned on a road in Yeovil. A man was taken to hospital after crashing a car into the front of a house in Ilminster. Police are investigating the theft of a car in Beer Street, Yeovil. Two farm buildings have been damaged by fire in Stalbridge.       A man has been arrested in Yeovil on suspicion of assaulting a police officer and possessing a firearm. A building in the Market Yard, Castle Cary, has been damaged in a fire. A public health specialist at the county council says Somerset is making good progress with its coronavirus rates. The multi-million-pound project to upgrade junction-25 on the M5 will see a new road layout open permanently this week....and more.

      From today, Covid Lateral Flow test kits are being made available to everyone in Somerset. Yeovil is one of the easiest places to pass the driving test on the first attempt.       District councillors in Somerset are being asked to support holding a referendum on the planned shake-up of local government in the County. Three people arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a car was in collision with a pedestrian in Yeovil have been released by police while investigations continue.
