Short service to commemorate the end of hostilities in World War 2
The Yeovil and District Branch of the Royal British Legion will commemorate the 80th Anniversary of VJ Day, which was the "de facto" end of hostilities in World War 2, by conducting a short Remembrance event at 1145 hrs on Friday, 15th August 2025.
The event will take place in the area of the Yeovil War Memorial, The Borough, Yeovil Town Centre.
It is being arranged and conducted by the Chairman of the Yeovil and District Branch, Simon WOODROW.
Everyone is welcome to attend and be part of the commemoration to remember the end of the hostilities in World War 2.

It is planned to run from around 11:45 to 12:15, depending on any requests for participation.
The event will be centred around the "National Silence" timed at 1200 hrs (midday)
Please be in the area by 1130 hrs at the latest to ensure the smooth running and appropriate placement of any VIP's and group representatives.
