More Information (Radio Ninesprings is not responsible for external websites)

This is a celebration for the traditional Wassail - with a twist! It won't be in our orchard but held At the Chapel in Bruton, on Saturday 20th January at 5 pm. It is principally going to raise much-needed funds for the Pitcombe Rock Falconry nearby who have helped us by providing owls for pest control in our orchards.

This ceremony, traditionally held on Twelfth Night but often sometime in January, is intended to wake the apple trees from their winter slumber, chase away evil spirits and ensure a bountiful harvest.

We’ll have our very own "tree" on the terrace, adorned with toast, and we’ll be singing and dancing with the help of Wild Moon Morris.
There will be apple juice and hot mulled Dowding's cider included.

Fun for all the family. Pot clattering, drum banging and pan bashing are very welcome! (Please feel free to bring your own pans)

Hail apple tree! Hail good health! Wassail! Wassail!

Please note that you will need to buy (a very reasonably priced at £10) ticket, and ideally before Saturday to ensure we have enough people coming!
