The Museum is delighted to welcome, on the 40th anniversary to the day of their operations in South Georgia, HMS ANTRIM's flight from the Falklands Conflict: Commander Ian Stanley DSO, Rear Admiral Dr Chris Parry CBE PhD and Lt Stewart Cooper.

Based around an illustrated presentation by Chris Parry, the flight will describe their experiences during the conflict flying the redoubtable Wessex HAS.3 Helicopter ‘Humphrey’ (XP142), which included the rescue of 16 SAS troopers from Fortuna Glacier, their detection and disabling of the Argentinian submarine SANTA FE and operations in support of the main landings in San Carlos.

The event under Concorde begins at 5.30 pm, with a complimentary refreshment to get up flying speed beforehand. ‘Humphrey’ has been re-displayed as part of the Museum’s tribute and commemorations for the 40th anniversary of the Falkland Conflict, and can be seen in Hall One as part of the evening.

There will also be the opportunity to purchase ‘Down South – a Falklands War Diary’, the best-selling, contemporaneous day-by-day account of a ship and its helicopter flight in a war fought in the most challenging conditions, far from home.
