It’s said to have happened in the village of Odcome, near the village hall, in the early hours of last Thursday, May 5th. A police spokesman said: "The victim was attacked by a man who was a passenger in a large dark coloured vehicle which had tinted rear windows and rectangular headlights". The offender is described as white, approximately 6ft tall with broad shoulders.     People in Ilminster are being given the opportunity to comment on the Local Plan for the town. The plan outlines ways to develop Ilminster over the next fifteen years, including building new homes. The consultation period begins this Thursday, May 19th and ends on July 8th.     Expect traffic hold-ups if you’re travelling on the A37 at Cannards Grave near Shepton Mallet today. The road will be partially shut with temporary traffic lights operating for the installation of a new water main. The closure will last for two weeks, with diversions in operation.

    The charity Promiseworks is planning to double the number of young people in Somerset that it helps. Promiseworks trains and recruits mentors from the local community to spend time with disadvantaged youngsters. 

    A newly formed women’s walking football club in Somerset is looking for new players. The club's aimed at women aged 40 and over who want to stay active and was set up only last month.

    Yeovil Town are expected to name their new manager later this week. Interim boss, Charlie Lee left the club last week after five games in charge. In their final game of the season, the Glovers won 1-0 away at Altrincham on Saturday and finish in 12th in the National League on 59 points.
