A man has been arrested in Yeovil on suspicion of assaulting a police officer and possessing a firearm. Police made the arrest after being called to an alleged assault in the Crofton Park area of the town at around 8 am on Sunday morning.
A building in the Market Yard, Castle Cary, has been damaged in a fire. The Devon & Somerset Fire service says it was caused by an electrical fault. The damage was slight and no one was hurt.
