    A Chard woman caught drug driving, has been banned from driving for one year. Jasmine Bale, of Touches Meadow, tested positive after being stopped in Station Road, Ilminster. She was also ordered to pay a fine of £405 and £350 in court costs.

    Yeovil Town’s medical team was voted ‘man of the match’ at the Glover’s game against AFC Fylde at the weekend. Joe Stacey and Tony Boreham rushed to treat Yeovil fan, Ian Koerner after he suffered a cardiac arrest in the crowd. Ian, whose grandson Corey was on the subs bench for Yeovil returned home on Saturday night after being discharged from hospital.

    Revised plans have been submitted to build 50 homes off West Street in Templecombe. The land that was granted outline planning for 49 homes in 2020 has been bought by Magna Housing. Magna plans to build a combination of rented and shared ownership homes on the site, with Somerset Council expected to make a decision on the application early next year.

    Ten large TVs have been donated to schools in Ukraine by Leonardo Helicopters in Yeovil. Leonardo has given the screens, together with other unwanted IT items, to the ‘School in Bag’ charity in Chilthorne Domer, for sending to schools in Ukraine.

    A former textile mill near Ilminster has been put for sale. Dowlish Ford Mill, together with outbuildings and grounds of half an acre, is offered with a guide price of £350,000. The sale is being handled by Clive Emson Land and Property Auctioneers. Online bidding goes live next Monday, September 16th and ends Wednesday, September 18th.

    A pub near Ilminster has been bought by a regional brewery chain. The Bell at Broadway claimed to be 380 years old, has been acquired by St Austell Brewery, owners of 122 leased and tenanted pubs across the West Country.
