South West Water says reservoir levels in Somerset are starting to recover after recent heavy rainfall. In October, water levels at Wimbleball Reservoir on Exmoor dropped to a record low level of just 12%.

Castle Cary railway station is to get a new footbridge and two lifts for people with mobility issues. At the moment, people with restricted mobility who need to access the two platforms are helped across the tracks by station staff. Network Rail says work building the footbridge will begin in June next year.

A young dancer from Martock has been chosen to perform with the English Youth Ballet. Fourteen-year-old Lena Ochalik will be part of the line-up when the English Youth Ballet stage The Nutcracker at the Lighthouse in Poole on November 13th and 14th.

Somerset Council is celebrating the achievements of young people who act as carers as part of National Care Leavers Month. County Hall in Taunton will be lit blue throughout November, with events being held to highlight the theme of this year's Care Leavers Month - From Experience to Empowerment.

A new discount retailer has opened in Crewkerne, replacing the town’s former Poundland store. Poundstretcher has moved into the unit, offering shoppers discounted household goods, food, health and beauty products, as well as seasonal items. It follows the closure of Poundland earlier this year.
