A single-vehicle collision near Cricket St Thomas has left a man with serious injuries. A blue Ford Fiesta collided with trees at the A30/ Roman Road junction on Saturday at 11 pm. Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage.
With Carnival season approaching, the Chard Carnival Committee have announced their 4th annual Street Fayre, taking place this Saturday. There will be stalls and entertainment along Holyrood Street and into the Library car park throughout the day. The future of a popular four-star hotel and wedding venue near Chard has been ensured after the owners of 17 years sold the property last month. Hornsbury Mill was originally a nineteenth-century corn mill and retained many of its historic features after the conversion. The sale of the premises which includes ten ensuite rooms, a bridal suite, landscaped gardens and a lake was handled by local firm, Porter Dodson.
