Yeovil Town Council is to use funds saved by not staging events during the pandemic to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee next year. Her majesty will mark 70-years as British Monarch in February. The Town Council plans celebratory events, including Music in the Park, over the four-day Bank Holiday weekend beginning June 2nd to mark the occasion.

Local historian, Bob Osborn has started a petition in support of putting on public display the vast collection of artifacts about the history of Yeovil that have been stored in a lock-up at Lufton since the Museum of South Somerset at Hendford Manor closed in 2011.
