Yeovil MP Marcus Fysh is on a list of 287 MP’s who have been banned from entering Russia after the Russian authorities accused them of stirring up Russophobic hysteria. 213 Conservative and 74 Labour members of Parliament have been sanctioned by Russia’s Foreign Ministry. Boris Johnson says the MPs on the list “should regard it as a badge of honour”. The UK government sanctioned 386 Russian politicians last month because of their support for the war in Ukraine.

The judges said there was no evidence that ministers had addressed the risk to care home residents.

The Right Reverend Michael Beasley has been named as the new Bishop of Bath and Wells. It follows the departure of Bishop Peter Hancock in May last year due to ill health. Bishop Michael is currently the Bishop of Hertford and was a member of the Church's Covid task force, during the pandemic.

People living in Somerset who aren't registered with a dentist can now call 111 if they need urgent treatment or advice. The helpline is open 8 am until 10 pm, every day of the year.
