    Flags have been lowered to half-mast at Huish Park following the death of Club Captain, Lee Collins. His death at the age of 32 was announced by the Club yesterday. Yeovil’s game at Altrincham today (April 2nd) has been postponed.

    New Covid wardens have been brought in to work across Somerset as lockdown restrictions ease. Five wardens will now operate across the county offering advice to people and businesses. 

    A union wants the government to step in over a row about funding for children with special educational needs in Somerset. The Heads of local SEN schools have been asked by the County Council to find savings of £2.4 million next year. Robin Head of the National Education Union in Somerset says the savings target is unacceptable.

    An updated version of the Countryside Code has been released 70 years after the first code was published in 1951. Natural England says it’s designed to allow people of all ages and backgrounds to enjoy the health and wellbeing benefits that nature offers while giving the countryside the respect it deserves. 

    Children at Chilthorne Domer Church School near Yeovil have been preparing for this year's ‘Somerset Day’. With just over a month to go until the event, pupils have been celebrating the history and culture of the County. 

    A new store in Yeovil is looking to hire staff. Newlife, the disabled children’s charity is to open the new shop in the Quedam Shopping Centre on Monday, April 12th. Newlife has six vacancies to fill, including Deputy Store Manager, Senior Sales, and assistant sales roles.
