An engine fault has been identified as the most likely cause of Wednesday’s plane crash at Yeovilton. The Sea Fury F20 came down in a field close to the Lamb and Lark pub in Limmington just one-mile short of the runway at the naval airbase. The aircraft was being operated by Navy Wings, the charity that manages the Navy’s fleet of historic aircraft.

A GP surgery in Chard is asking its patients to be more considerate. It follows reports of 'abusive' and 'violent' behavior towards staff working at Springmead Surgery in Summerfields Road. The abuse has been face-to-face or during phone calls. The surgery says offenders may be removed from the surgery list and in extreme cases, the police will be informed.

The misuse of e-scooters in South Somerset is on the increase. Zwings, the company running the project, says the biggest problem has been vehicles used by underage riders. The minimum age for using e-scooters is 17 and riders must hold a provisional driving licence. Anyone who witnesses the misuse of an e-scooter is asked to pass details to ZWings.

Pharmacists in South Somerset are urging people to take up having a free rapid Covid test, even if they don't have symptoms. The government has made lateral flow test kits available to everyone to find people who are carrying the virus but show no signs of having Coronavirus.
