    Events are ongoing across South Somerset marking the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

    Events are ongoing across South Somerset marking the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. In Crewkerne, a Party in Park and a music concert is being held on the playing fields at the Henhays Centre. In Chard, a Civic Parade is taking place followed by a service of thanksgiving at St Mary’s Church. In Chard Guildhall this evening, local performers present a variety show, curtain up is at 7 pm.

    In Ilminster, a family fun day, hosted by Ilminster Sports Club is on at Britten’s Field. In Yeovil, the big Jubilee Day Out at the Recreation ground off Mudford Road with live bands and performers goes on until late tonight. In South Petherton, a family gathering is being held at St Peter and St Paul’s Church with a ringing of the church bells at 8 pm. In Charlton Adam, a barn dance at the Youth Club gets underway at 7 pm. In Martock, a barn dance with a ceilidh band, Blue Jewel, is on at the Recreational ground also starting at 7 pm.

    If you’re looking for something a little different, Bullet’s Sports Bar on the Lynx Trading Estate in Yeovil presents a live snooker exhibition with Jimmy White starting at 7.30 pm. Tomorrow in Yeovil, Great Lyde Scouts have an open day at the scout hut off St John’s Road celebrating the Jubilee starting at 11 am.
