Yeovil MP, Marcus Fysh, says rural bus routes in Somerset may have to run on the lines of Uber taxis if they’re to have a viable future. Mr. Fysh is concerned about the fall-off in passenger numbers and the high costs of subsidizing rural buses. He says the future for public transport services in rural places lies in them becoming more ‘on demand’.
