    Almost all train services through Yeovil Junction, Yeovil Pen Mill, Castle Cary, and Sherborne railway stations, won’t be running as normal this week. This is due to further strike action by the RMT. The union says its members will stop work on every day this week, apart from Thursday. Passengers are being advised to check the websites for South Western Railway and Great Western Railway for the latest information.

    Ukrainian refugees in Somerset are being given £500 each towards the costs of transport. Around one thousand Ukrainians in Somerset will get the grant. 

    The government's giving a Somerset business six million pounds to update its production line. Electrified Automation in Bridgwater, which works with clients worldwide, will use the money to convert their production line to fully robotic. 

    A Crewkerne business has won two top awards. Neural Edge, a data-led marketing agency, won the small-sized company of the year and team leader of the year prize at the 2022 A-ONE Journal Global Excellent Awards.

    NHS Somerset is spending £6 million to get patients out of hospital and back into the community more quickly. The funding is being invested in a scheme in which 300 patients are cared for in their own homes.

    Two employees at Leonardo Helicopters in Yeovil have won top awards. At the annual Royal Aeronautical Society awards ceremony held in London, Tom Magowan, a senior structural dynamics analyst was presented with the Alan Marsh prize for innovation in the field of aeronautics and Jennifer Miles, a mechanical engineer, received an N E Rowe commendation.
