An investigation is being held into claims that two Yeovil Town players were subjected to verbal abuse during the FA Cup game against Yate Town played at Yate’s Lodge Road ground on Saturday, November 6th. The players involved were Adi Yussuf and Grant Smith. Yeovil Town have made a formal complaint to Avon and Somerset Police and the FA and both are now investigating the allegations.
The Langport-based charity Bibic that supports children with additional needs says it’s dealing with a big increase in inquiries. Calls from families asking for help have increased 150% compared to this time last year. Bibic recently opened a new sensory room at their Langport centre to provide care to more children.
Somerset County Council has launched a Facebook page to promote volunteering opportunities. The idea is for all volunteering opportunities in the County to be grouped in one place to make it easier for people to register.
The Scout Christmas Post is again operating in Yeovil this festive season, raising money for local scout groups. Postboxes will be in shops, supermarkets and offices all around Yeovil from Thursday, November 18th.
