Chetnole railway station near Sherborne has been ranked as one of England's least-used stations. It was visited by an average of five people every day between April 2021 and March 2022, according to the Office of Rail and Road. Chetnole station on the Heart of Wessex Line between Yetminster and Maiden Newton is listed as England's 2,457th quietest railway station.

Yeovil Town’s away match against Bromley at the weekend was abandoned following the death of a spectator. The referee called off the game in the 11th minute after a medical emergency in one of the stands. In a statement, Yeovil Town thanked all supporters who assisted with the incident.

People in Somerset, struggling with the cost of living crisis, are being given extra help through warm spaces hubs. More than 70 have opened across the County, including in Yeovil and Chard, offering people somewhere warm and welcoming to gather.

Five parents in Somerset have been fined for not ensuring their child or children attend school on a regular basis. Appearing before local magistrates, each parent was fined between £80 and £660 together with court costs.

A public car park in Yeovil town centre is due to re-open next week. The West Hendford car park in Waterloo Lane was shut five weeks ago following incidents of anti-social behaviour. South Somerset District Council has been carrying out repairs to the car park during the shutdown.
