Somerset County Council says it could take up to six months to investigate June’s major flooding incident in Chard. The County County Council says those parts of Chard worst hit by the flash flooding event of June 28th that left homes underwater and roads closed are being investigated as a priority, that it could take to the end of the year to check for blocked and broken drainage pipes in other areas. Meanwhile, business owners on the Furnham Road Industrial Estate claim their premises are at daily risk of flooding due to blocked drains and are asking the County Council to make their situation a top priority.
