    Police are warning people in Somerset not to approach a man wanted on recall to prison. Joseph Bushnell, who's 34, has links to Ilminster and Crewkerne. He's also wanted for questioning in connection with an assault investigation. Bushnell is described as white, about 6ft 3ins tall, of a large build, and with tattoos. If you know of his whereabouts you’re asked to call 999.

    The Ilminster bypass will close overnight for four days later this month. Work to repair the road, repair barriers and clear vegetation, takes place between Monday, July 29th to Thursday, August 1st from 8 pm to 6 am. During the closure, a diversion route will operate via the A358, A378 and A372. 

    A Somerset cider producer says hundreds of its apple trees are at risk due to an increase in the number of ermine moths. The Somerset Cider Brandy Company at Kingsbury Episcopi doesn't use pesticides and therefore has no defence against the spread of the ermine moth.

    A carer in Somerset is calling on the new Labour government to put social care on an equal footing with the NHS. Janet Shreeve worked as a live-in carer for 15 years and now runs a care consultancy advising care providers. A spokesperson for the Department of Health and Social Care said it's going to 'deliver a new deal for care workers, including the creation of a National Care Service, delivering consistency of care across the country.

    A summer school in Chard is calling all 6 to 18-year-olds in the town to come along and help them stage a musical in just three days. The Bethany Brown School of Dance is putting on the summer school at Holyrood Academy from August 7th to August 9th with the musical performed in front of a live audience on the final day at 5.30 pm.

    Yeovil Town kick off their new season in the National League with a home game against Hartlepool United. The game is to be played at Huish Park on Saturday, August 10th, kick off 3 pm.
