Mark Shelford was voted into the role in last week’s local elections where he stood as the Conservative candidate. He says he’ll be spending his first few months in the job travelling around the area, meeting as many people as possible.
Police are searching for two youths responsible for starting a fire in Thorne Gardens in Yeovil that spread to an adjoining property. The incident happened on Monday, 26th April at around 6 pm. Police say the youths were aged 13 to 14 years. One was wearing all black, the other a black and white Adidas tracksuit. Anyone who can help is asked to call the non-emergency number 101.
Yeovil Hospital says it’s pleased with the latest Care Quality Commission report into the hospital’s services. The CQC made an unannounced inspection in February and has concluded that the hospital is working well and that staff feel supported during the pandemic.
The age limit for being a member of young farmers clubs in Somerset is being raised by two years. The National Federation of Young Farmers Clubs has voted to increase the age limit for remaining a member from 26 to 28.
