A teenage boy reported to Police that he’d been attacked by a man. If you have information that could help the police, you’re asked to call the non-emergency number 101.

Virtual appointments for NHS patients have risen dramatically locally in the past year. Somerset NHS Foundation Trust says since the Covid pandemic started, NHS staff has handled more than 70,000 online appointments.

The Chief Executive of South Somerset District Council, Alex Parmley, is stepping down and moving to a new job on the other side of the world. Mr Parmley, who’s been the Head of South Somerset District Council for 5-years, is leaving to take up the position of Chief Executive of a local council in New Zealand.

Pubs in South Somerset are being asked to find alternatives to online apps for people ordering food and drink. Age UK says the technology has left some older people feeling isolated. The use of apps has become popular as pubs seek to reduce contact with customers.

A new cafe and wine bar is coming to Bruton. It follows the granting of a ‘change of use’ on the Old Pharmacy building on the High Street. The business will be run jointly with the Osip restaurant in Bruton.
