Somerset Council say the end is in sight to completing work on improving the look of Yeovil town centre. The 'Yeovil Refresh Project' that is running two years late and four million pounds over budget has been strongly criticised, in particular, by business owners in the town who blame it for a loss of trade. Somerset Council, who are responsible for managing 'Yeovil Refresh' admit their communications with the public on how they are changing the town centre need to be improved.
NHS Somerset has announced plans to increase blood pressure checks as part of efforts to reduce deaths from heart attacks and strokes. They plan to use local pharmacies, barbershops, mosques, sports grounds and community centres as places to carry out the checks.
