    Yeovil Town fans are holding a public meeting this Thursday to discuss the situation at the club. There’s been a drop in the number of people killed in road accidents in Somerset. A special meeting is being held tonight of Chard Town Council to elect a new Mayor. A Somerset farmer is beginning the final stage of walking the South West coastal path raising money in memory of his late wife.

    Yeovil Town fans are holding a public meeting this Thursday to discuss the situation at the club. It follows the collapse of Matt Uggla's expected purchase of the club and growing concerns about Yeovil Town’s finances. The Glover’s Trust, who’ve organised Thursday’s meeting, are calling on owner, Scott Priestnall, to be completely open about the financial position at Huish Park.

    A Yeovil man has appeared in court following a suspected attack at Upwey railway station, in Dorset, on April 28th. Jesse Syx, of Crofton Road, faced charges of assault occasioning grievous bodily harm and possession of a knife when he appeared at Poole Magistrates' Court. He was sent to stand trial at Bournemouth Crown Court on June 1st.

    There’s been a drop in the number of people killed in road accidents in Somerset. The number of fatalities in 2022 was twenty-one. This compares to twenty-five the previous year. Vehicles crossing a road into the path of another vehicle was one of the main causes of fatal crashes last year. 

    A special meeting is being held tonight of Chard Town Council to elect a new Mayor. It follows the surprise resignation of Councillor Jenny Kenton after serving only five months of her 1-yr term of office.

    Women with substance misuse or alcohol problems are being invited take part in a series of workshops in Yeovil. Called "WOW", which stands for "Women Only Workshops", the first and nine weekly session takes place in Yeovil today. 

    Somerset farmer, Mark Pope, is beginning the final stage of walking the South West coastal path in memory of his late wife, raising money for St Margaret's Hospice. Mark is on course to raise six thousand pounds that will be used to buy a special type of bed for the hospice.
