Police have released CCTV images of two men they want to interview in connection with a serious sexual assault in Yeovil. The attack happened in the early hours of Saturday morning on or near the footpath that runs alongside the River Yeo between Addlewell Lane and Newton Road. The images of both men can be viewed here.

The Army has been brought in to help run the ambulance service in Somerset. South Western Ambulance says due to an unprecedented number of 999 calls it had no alternative but to call in the military for assistance.

A new McDonald’s restaurant in Yeovil is looking to hire staff. No date’s been given for when the new drive-thru on the A30 Sherborne Road next to Pittards will open but the vacancies are being advertised with an immediate start date.

A one-off bonus of one thousand pounds is being offered to entice new drivers to join Somerset Waste Partnership. A shortage of drivers has led to SWP, through its contractor Suez, struggling to collect waste from households in South Somerset.

Twenty-two local community groups have been given a share of fifty thousand pounds to work on green projects. The money has been allocated on a competitive basis by the Somerset Community Foundation.
