    A man has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery at a shop in Yeovil. A Public Health Consultant says Somerset's Covid case rates are at their highest ever. Police investigating an assault in Crewkerne in the week before Christmas are appealing for anyone with information to come forward. A bird of prey sanctuary in Chard has raised the money it needed to build a new treatment unit for injured birds and registration has opened for the Dorset and Somerset Air ambulance Coast2Coast cycle run.

    A man has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery at a shop in Yeovil.  The robbery at a newsagent on Wessex Road happened last October. It was reported at the time that a handgun was used before cash was stolen. Police say the suspect was traced following information provided by the public.

    A Public Health Consultant says Somerset's Covid case rates are at their highest ever. The latest data shows there are 1,262 cases per 100,000 of the population. 

    Police investigating an assault in Crewkerne in the week before Christmas are appealing for anyone with information to come forward. A teenager was punched to the ground and kicked by two men in Market Square on 18th December. If you can help, you’re asked to call the non-emergency number 101.

    A bird of prey sanctuary in Chard has raised the money it needed to build a new treatment unit for injured birds. Supporters of the Sharandys Birds of Prey sanctuary raised the £2,500 needed, in less than 6-weeks. 

    Registration has opened for the Dorset and Somerset Air ambulance Coast2Coast cycle run. The event from Watchet to West Bay raised £30,000 last year.
