Bus campaigners, who staged a protest against service cuts in Yeovil at the weekend, are calling for a re-think of plans to scrap the number 54-bus route that runs between Yeovil and Wincanton. A road in Chard will partially shut to traffic later this week. East Street, on the side of the road leading out of the town, will close on Wednesday to fix an electricity supply fault. During the two-day closure, traffic lights will be in operation with motorists diverted onto the Crowshute Link.

Plans have been submitted to convert a former mill in South Petherton into a dwelling. If approved, Joylers Mill, a Grade-2 listed building at the end of Mill Lane, will be turned into a single residential dwelling, set over four floors.
