Two new NHS breast screening units have taken to the road in Somerset. The state-of-the-art mobile units replace vehicles that have been in use for the last 15-years and will travel around the county to make screening more accessible, particularly in rural areas. Around 77,000 women in Somerset are eligible for routine breast screening every three years.
More than 700 new homes are to be built alongside the M5 in Bridgwater despite claims the development would be unviable due to a lack of affordable homes as part of the scheme.
Plans have been submitted to change the use of Kingston House on Long Street in Sherborne. The applicants want to convert the property from a veterinary practice into a single residential dwelling with international alterations.
Local league football teams have been stopped from playing games on council-owned pitches in Taunton. Taunton Town Council says the grass has been left too weak to play on due the summer's record temperatures.
