    The NHS in Somerset is urging people to sign up for a Covid top-up booster jab. A Yeovil man has appeared in court charged with assault.     People in Somerset aged over 65 are being urged to sign up for a Covid top-up booster jab.

    A Yeovil man has appeared in court charged with assault.  Magistrates were told the alleged incident related to a hunt held in Limmington near Ilchester in November last year. Steven Paul, of Church Lane, in Yeovil is due in court again on Thursday, October 5th.

    The Bath and Wells Diocese is running a campaign to find more people to volunteer to be school governors. Governors don't get paid but they do have a say in how schools are managed. Qualifications are not needed to apply.

    The go-ahead has been given for a new cricket pavilion to be built at the Recreation Ground in Ilminster. Part of the existing pavilion will remain with the new building having a side extension and front steps. 

    An event is being held next weekend to mark Yeovil's musical links with soul music. It’s been organised as part of the Windrush 75 celebrations with attention focused on the role played by the Studios nightclub in Yeovil in the soul and reggae music revolution in the South West. 

    Work has started on creating a new cycle route along Lyde Road in Yeovil. The initial section of work that will take several weeks to complete runs from Camborne Street to Sandringham Road.
