Farmers from Somerset were amongst the hundreds of others from across the UK who gathered in London yesterday to protest against changes to inheritance tax. Under plans announced in the budget, farmers with agricultural assets worth more than one million pounds will be subject to a twenty per cent tax rate. The National Farmers Union has urged the government to reconsider the proposal warning it threatens the future of British farming.
