Farmers in Somerset say they're struggling after the price of red diesel used in tractors and other farm vehicles has doubled, from 70 pence to 135 pence a litre. The RAC says since the US-Israel war with Iran began, average petrol prices have risen by nine pence a litre, with diesel increasing by twenty pence a litre.

Yeovil MP Adam Dance has criticised Donald Trump after the US President said people with learning disabilities should not be given leadership positions. President Trump's remarks were directed at Gavin Newsom, the California governor, who is dyslexic. Mr Adam, who is dyslexic himself, says dyslexia is a common learning difference and does not limit someone’s ability to lead.

The daughter of a man who died in a crash on the M5 is running the London Marathon to raise money for South West Ambulance. Rod Walsh was killed in 2018 when a lorry went into the back of traffic waiting to exit junction 25. His daughter, Carys, is taking on the 26-mile challenge to raise funds as a thank-you to South West Ambulance.

Somerset Council says work building a new road junction in Crewkerne will begin after Easter. A new junction, linking homes at Wool Gardens with Station Road, was due to be completed when 55 homes on the development had been built. But the developer reached an agreement to delay building the junction until 200 homes had been completed. Somerset Council says work on the new junction will begin in early April and take five months to complete.
