People are being told not to approach a man with links to Yeovil who’s wanted on recall to prison. Callum Conisbee is wanted by Police for failing to comply with the terms of his release. He’s described as white, around 6ft tall of average build, with short, brown hair and blue eyes. Avon and Somerset Police ask that if you see Conisbee or know of his whereabouts to call 999.

Plans have been submitted to build a new 60-bed hotel, farm shop, restaurant and filling station next to the new dualled section of the A303 in South Somerset. The scheme, between the Podimore and Sparkford roundabouts near to Steart Hill, would spread over three fields. Developers, Hopkins Estates, say the proposal is in line with the Local Development Plan and will provide a convenient roadside facility for motorists. The plans are now with Somerset Council awaiting a decision.

Yeovil-based apprentice, Chris Lintern, has been named National Apprentice of the Year 2024. Chris, who completed his training with Spectrum Electrical Group, was presented with an engraved glass trophy, and cheque for £1,500 at the JTL awards ceremony.
Chris came top for his practical onsite work, theoretical knowledge, and industrial test scores.

Plans have been submitted to convert a former Methodist Chapel in Stoford near Yeovil into a residential dwelling. If approved, the building in Court Lane will be altered with roof lights, metal gates, and railings.

If you’re not registered to vote in the General Election, you have until midnight tonight in which to do so. If you have recently moved house or changed your name, you will need to register to vote. Applications can be made through the Somerset Council website.
