A Somerset car boot business says it will no longer accept twenty-pound notes after being handed four counterfeit notes. Paul’s Promotions says it cannot afford to keep losing money through fake cash being used for entry fees. Customers are now being asked to pay by card, with ten-pound notes, or using one and two-pound coins.
Taunton Flower Show is warning this year’s event could be its last because of rising costs and falling visitor numbers. The show, which attracts around seventeen-thousand visitors annually, is the oldest flower show in the county and has often been described as the Chelsea Flower Show of the West.
