    Police are appealing for witnesses to a fatal collision at Rimpton near Yeovil. It happened when a Honda motorcycle and a black BMW collided on the B3148 at Rimpton Hill at around 3pm on Sunday. The motorcyclist, a woman in her 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene. If you witnessed the crash or have dashcam footage, you are asked to call the police non-emergency number, 101.

    A 19-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage in South Petherton. Police say thirteen vehicles and three buildings sustained damage, but believe there could be other incidents that have not yet been reported. Anyone in South Petherton whose vehicle has been damaged and has not yet reported it should call the non-emergency number, 101.

    People at a homeless hostel in Taunton have been using a mobile dentist service to help with their oral hygiene. The mobile van offers people who are homeless or victims of abuse check-ups, fillings and extractions at no cost.

    Former Yeovil Town manager Gary Johnson has been retained as first-team manager of Taunton Town for next season. Johnson was put in charge of the Peacocks last December when the club was in deep trouble. Under his guidance, Taunton, who play in the Southern League Premier Division South, ended the season in a mid-table position.

    A new bus service linking Glastonbury and Street with Castle Cary railway station will start running in June. The 667 service will run seven days a week and be timed to connect with mainline trains arriving at and departing from Castle Cary.

    In local sport, former Somerset cricket captain Tom Abell has signed a new contract with the club, which will keep him at the County Ground until the end of the 2028 season.
