A coroner has raised concerns over what she calls "delays and staff communication" at Yeovil District Hospital after the death of a newborn baby. Daisy McCoy was delivered by caesarean section in February 2022 after her mother reported feeling "reduced and unusual movement".The coroner said Daisy died as a result of a brain injury in the womb, but there was a delay in her delivery "due to a combination of factors".A Somerset NHS Foundation Trust spokesperson said it's already "working hard to address the points raised.
Revised plans for the construction of up to 360 homes on Canal Way in Ilminster will be put forward in the autumn, after the developer Persimmon Homes South West secured approval to remove sections of the nearby hedgerows. More detailed proposals for access arrangements to the site are now being put forward, with details on how the new estate will still boost biodiversity.
