    Union members at Leonardo sites across the UK, including in Yeovil, have voted to go on strike after rejecting a 3.2 percent pay offer. The Unite union says its a real term pay cut. Leonardo says it stands by the competitiveness of the 2-year pay deal and continue to engage in discussions with Unite.

    GWR has apologised for not providing a visually impaired Yeovil women with an escort to cross between platforms at Pen Mill station. Kath Vickey had booked assistance but when she arrived at Pen Mill no staff was available to help her catch her train. She's now launched a petition for staffing at Pen Mill station to be improved. 

    A walnut grower in Somerset is calling on supermarkets to stop importing the nuts from aboard. Roger Saul, who famously founded the fashion brand Mulberry and now farms walnuts near Street, says thanks to the long hot summer, he’s produced a bumper Walnuts crop, proving that walnuts can be grown successfully in Somerset. Roger’s asking supermarkets to stop importing walnuts and to sell the ones he grows in Somerset instead.
