More than 500 young people were either injured or killed on roads in Somerset and Devon last year. The figures come from Devon and Somerset Fire, which has launched a new campaign in schools and FE colleges to support young drivers in reducing the number of injuries and fatalities on the region's roads.

New owners have taken over the Candlelight Inn at Bishopswood in Chard. The pub closed in May, with the then-owners blaming roadworks on the A303 for the loss of trade. New owners, Maddie Beaumont and Ben Porter, who run the Cotley Inn in Wambrook, will be running a pop-up at the Candlelight through December before fully reopening the pub in January.
