A teenager has been arrested following a serious assault in Yeovil. It happened in Raglan Terrace at 3.30 pm on Wednesday when a man in his 50s and a teenage boy sustained serious stab injuries. Police say a 15-year-old boy remains in custody, having been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent and affray.
Yeovil MP, Adam Dance will officially open Yeovil’s new outdoor performance space in Lower Middle Street later today. The entertainment area in The Triangle, built as part of the Yeovil Refresh Project, has seating for around 100, a water feature and a big outdoor TV screen. The opening event takes place at 3.30 pm this afternoon.
The only serving female Royal Navy Commando says entry requirements to become a Royal Marine should be the same as for men despite no women qualifying since it was allowed 25 years ago. Lieutenant Lily-Mae Fisher from Somerset is one of only seven women who completed the All Arms Commando Course. The Royal Navy says their entry requirements must be applied equally, regardless of gender.
