Charity shops in Somerset report receiving donations of dirty clothing and even soiled nappies. Charity shops say they’re worried about remaining viable due to a drop in the quality of items they're gifted. Shops believe fewer quality items are being gifted because people now sell quality, unwanted items online to make money for themselves.

Plans have been submitted to build a further fifty new homes in Crewkerne. If approved by Somerset Council, the former Miller’s Garage showroom on East Street will be demolished, and the fields to the rear will be used for the development.

The National Audit Office states that additional government funding to improve bus services, including in Somerset, has failed to deliver an increase in passenger numbers. The NAO states that poor bus usage in rural areas is primarily due to the decline in the population living in these areas.

Yeovil Town has signed Kyle Ferguson on a one-year contract. The 24-year-old made four appearances for the Glovers towards the end of last season while on loan at Huish Park from Rochdale.
