Police started their annual Christmas crackdown on drink and drug driving earlier this year because of the World Cup. They say the number of people arrested increases when England plays a match.
A man’s body has been found in a house near Chard, three days after it was badly damaged by fire. It happened in Windwhistle last Sunday but it was only on Tuesday that Police were able to conduct a search of the property due to it being unsafe. Police say the man’s death is not being treated as suspicious.

Police say two John Deere lawn mowers, power tools, hedge trimmers, strimmers, and blowers, were taken on in the early hours of Tuesday this week. Police are appealing for anyone in the area at the time who saw or heard anything suspicious to call the non-emergency number 101.
Crewkerne's Community Kitchen, set up during the pandemic, has moved to a new permanent base at the George Reynolds Centre in the town. Previously, it had been run from a café in Crewkerne with food items donated by local supermarkets and volunteer support from the charity, Fareshare.
