    The new owner of Yeovil Town Football Club says his priority is to keep Yeovil in the National League. A motorist has been caught driving at 122 miles per hour on the A303 near Sparkford.     The new owner of Yeovil Town Football Club has been speaking about his plans for the Club. Matthew Uggla has taken over control at Huish Park through his company, SU Glovers Ltd. He says his priority is to build the team to ensure that Yeovil stays up in the National League.

    A motorist, caught driving at 122 miles per hour on the A303 near Sparkford, has appeared at Yeovil Magistrates Court. Russell Barton who pleaded guilty to the offence was fined 660 pounds and disqualified from driving for six months.

    The environment charity Keep Britain Tidy says roadside litter in Somerset is the worst it has ever been. It says a rise in drive-thru facilities is partly to blame but also confusion over who is responsible for cleaning up the litter. 

    Two temporary road closures will be in place in Ilminster this month. Wharf Lane will be closed to traffic on Monday, March 13th for Openreach to lay new ducting. Court Barton in Ilminster will be closed on Monday, March 20th, again, for Openreach to carry out groundworks.

    An assistance dog from Chard will be competing at Crufts later this month. Flat-coated retriever Falcon helps his owner, Beth Ponsford, with her autism and other disabilities.
