Yeovil’s new MP Adam Dance has been speaking about his priorities in the role. In yesterday’s general election, he polled 12,200 more votes than his closest rival, Conservative and former Yeovil MP Marcus Fysh, to win Yeovil for the Liberal Democrats. Adam says he will be making an immediate start on providing his constituents with an accessible town centre office to meet with him, fighting to stop the planned closure of the acute stroke unit at Yeovil Hospital, and lobbying for the contract to build a new medium-lift helicopter for the RAF to be awarded to Leonardo in Yeovil. The full result in the Yeovil constituency was:
Steve Ashton (Independent) - 608
Laura Bailhache (Reform UK) – 7,677
Adam Dance (Lib Dem) – 23,765
Marcus Fysh (Conservative) – 11,497
Rebecca Montacute (Labour) – 3,002
Serena Wootton (Green Party) – 2,403
