Somerset Council says homes and businesses across a much wider area of South Somerset than had previously been thought were affected by last weeks major flooding event. It’s now believed that as many as sixty homes and business premises were left flooded in Queen Camel, West Camel, North and South Cadbury, Podimore, Bruton and Galhampton when the torrential downpour struck last Tuesday night. The charity Young Lives Versus Cancer has announced that thirteen of its shops, including the one it runs on Princes Street in Yeovil, are at risk of closure. The charity says the shops are not taking enough money and have become unviable.
