    The vaccination centre at the Bath and West Showground has moved to the Haynes Motor Museum in Sparkford from today, Anyone with a Covid vaccination appointment at the Bath and West showground is asked to attend the Haynes Motor Museum instead.

    A councillor in Chard is calling on the Government to abandon the planned cut of £20 in universal credit. The uplift was introduced as a temporary measure at the start of the pandemic. The Government says that with the economy opening, the extra payment can no longer be justified. Councillor Morrison who helps to run the Lords Larder food bank in Chard disagrees. She says if the £20 cut is approved, it’ll be the worst off families who will be hit the hardest.

    A man in a wheelchair needed hospital treatment after colliding with a bus in South Chard. The accident happened at the junction of Perry Street and Crossways last Friday morning. 

    Companies in South Somerset with staff on furlough will have to pay 20 per cent of their wages beginning this week. Employment expert, Stuart Lewis, says people aged 50 and over are likely to be hardest hit when the furlough scheme ends in September.

    A Yeovil woman is offering a reward after losing a ring at the Houndstone Retail Park car park in Yeovil. Susan Coates believes she dropped the ring, made of yellow gold with 5 or 6 diamonds in a small setting, while parking in a disabled bay outside the Hobbycraft store. Susan says the ring has sentimental value and would like to hear from anyone in the Houndstone Retail Park last Friday who may have picked up the ring.
