Today is the last day to order repeat prescriptions to have them delivered before the Easter Bank Holiday.

A specialist team has been going through people's bins in Somerset. Somerset Waste Partnership is trying to find out what people are putting in their black bins instead of it being recycled. SWP says even though Somerset collects food waste separately, plenty of food waste still ends up among general rubbish.

A Yeovil man has appeared in court for sentencing for sexually assaulting two underage girls. William Farthing, also known as Billy Farthing, aged 35, had previously been found guilty of four counts of rape that took place more than 20 years ago. Taunton Crown Court was told that Farthing was not given a longer sentence due to him being under eighteen at the time he committed the offences.

Work begins in earnest today at Somerset's new unitary council. The new Somerset Council, which officially launched at the weekend, has taken over running all council services in the county from the four district councils and county council.

Members of 852 Squadron at RNAS Yeovllton set off today to cycle from Lands End to John O’Groats to raise money for Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton. The 900-mile marathon is led by Mark Wilks whose two children were cared for at Musgrove after being born prematurely. Mark says they’re aiming to raise £3,000 to buy two breathing machines from the baby unit at  Musgrove Park Hospital.
