It follows an incident in which a passenger rang the alarm because they’d left their luggage on the platform. A protest to stop a giant oak tree being felled at Sparkford has entered its second week. Campaigners moved onto the site earlier this month claiming the tree is ancient and should be kept. National Highways say the tree is between 60 and 100 years old and needs to come down to make way for dualling the A303 at Sparkford.
