A local councillor in South Somerset has taken to knocking on the doors of EU nationals to make sure they apply for settled status. EU nationals have until the end of June to protect their rights to live, work and study in the UK. Councillor Oliver Patrick, who represents the Parrett ward on South Somerset District Councillor, says one-in-three EU nationals he met did not realise they needed to apply for settled status by June 30th.
A new community food larder has opened in Castle Cary. Families In the greatest need can collect items of food, donated by local supermarkets and local people, from the larder in the Millbrook car park in Castle Cary.
A new neighbourhood plan for Ilminster has been published. The plan is community-led offering guidance on future development, regeneration and conservation in the town up to 2036. It’s now out to consultation and can be viewed at Ilminster Library or via the Ilminster Town Council website.
