    A Yeovil children’s nursery has been shut down due to "safeguarding concerns". Police have issued images of two men they want to question in connection with the theft of a quadbike in Yeovil.     A Yeovil children’s nursery has been shut down due to "safeguarding concerns". Following an inspection, Ofsted has suspended Oaklands Day Nursery on Preston Grove with immediate effect. Ofsted has not said why the suspension was imposed. 

    Police have issued images of two men they want to question in connection with the theft of a quadbike in Yeovil. The green quadbike, with registration LJ16 HLY, was stolen in Preston Road on Saturday, May 21. The images taken from a CCTV camera can be viewed on the Avon and Somerset Police website.     Plans have been submitted to convert a pub in Chard into a house. The former Furnham Inn on Furnham Road in Chard closed in 2013. The building’s owners have attempted to sell the pub without success. The planning application argues that the only viable future for the property is to change its use to a house.

    Waterlake Road in Tatworth near Chard is closed today and for the next two days for repairs to a domestic water pipe. Traffic is being diverted via Fore Street, Perry Street, Roman Road, and Axminster Road. 

    Judges for the annual Britain in Bloom awards have been in Yeovil this week. The town's entry has been put together by businesses, schools and community groups. Steve Fox is from Yeovil in Bloom and says a lot of effort has gone into making the town look special.
