    A care home in Yeovil is asking for donations of blankets and clothing for sending to the Turkey and Syria where the death toll from Monday’s earthquake has continued to rise. A fire in the roof of a workshop near Hinton St George is being treated as accidental. A road through Ilminster is shut to traffic again today for urgent repairs. A wedding fayre is being held for the first time inside the Minster at Ilminster this weekend.

    A care home in Yeovil is asking for donations of blankets and clothing for sending to the Turkey and Syria where the death toll from Monday’s earthquake has continued to rise. If you have items to give please take them to the Redlief Care Home on Preston Road and ask for Debbie who is co-ordinating the effort. Meanwhile, a search and rescue team made up of members from the South West has arrived in Turkey to help with the rescue effort. 

    A road through Ilminster is shut to traffic again today. The Cross closed yesterday and will remain closed until late tomorrow to allow for Wessex Water to carry out urgent repairs.

    A fire in the roof of a workshop near Hinton St George is being treated as accidental. The blaze broke out around the flue of a log burner within the building and quickly spread into the roof. Crews from Crewkerne and Ilminster dealt with the outbreak..

    A wedding fayre is being held for the first time inside the Minster at Ilminster this weekend. It’s been timed ahead of Valentine's Day for couples to plan their big day, meeting with local florists, caterers and photographers.
